A few weeks ago I finally did something I've wanted to do for over a decade: I went to the Full Gospel Tabernacle Church. As luck would have it, the Reverend Al Green was there! It began with the congregation being asked to come up and place offerings in the bucket in front of the reverend, which was new to me, but that broke the ice and he began speaking with people and asking where they were from. Answers ranged from all over the U.S. and some as far away as France and England. There were several hymns I didn't recognize (which really isn't all that surprising), but when he sang "Will the Circle be Unbroken" I'm pretty sure everyone was standing and singing along, myself included. He anointed some members, and certainly blessed us all. He also thanked us, ending the sermon with "and if I had time, I'd thank ya again."
