San Francisco, Toronto, New York, Houston, Los Angeles, Denver, and Memphis Yes, you read that correctly. If you can’t tell from my posts, I’ve been pretty sweet on Memphis and the things that are happening here these days. The city is getting a lot of attention, and because of that there are opportunities for things to happen that wouldn’t have been feasible 10 years ago. A few weeks ago I attended the South Main Association Christmas party. It was at the Jack Robinson gallery on Front Street, and I had no idea what I was walking into. My motivation for going that particular day was the hands on event of casting natural objects in resin. I've been collecting feathers the last year or so (even though I was taught never to pick them up as a child) and...

Crystal Bridges

art outdoors travel

During one of my recent trips to Arkansas for business (and some fun) I took an afternoon to drive to Bentonville to see the Crystal Bridges museum. You may know it as the "Wal-Mart" museum, but that is misleading. It really is more than the sum of its parts, drawing from the setting, art, and architecture that combine to create an experience rather than a visit marked off the to-do list. There was an incredible exhibition at the time featuring Jamie Wyeth and Andy Warhol. However, what I remember most is spending as much time outside as I did inside...
